Ensure you have a valid licence: Category 'A' for motorcycle Category 'P' for moped.
Read and understand Highway Code (will be tested!). A good understanding will make your CBT easier.
Loan Bike, Helmet, gloves and waterproofs (included within the £80)
Tea and coffee (free), BUT YOU WILL NEED TO BRING A PACKED LUNCH!!
Warm and dry classroom and loo.
Feet:
Motorcycle boots, doc martins, army boots or walking boots. Anything with ankle protection.
Steel toecaps, trainers and anything with a high heel are not suitable.
If cold, wear 2 pairs of socks.
Trousers:
Motorcycle leather or textile trousers are best.
Denim jeans in good condition are the minimum.
Any thin or soft trousers are not recommended as they tear easily.
If cold, wear thermals.
Jacket:
Motorcycle leather or textile jacket is best.
Wax jacket, thick zip up denim or heavyweight work jacket is the minimum.
Soft material jackets are not recommended, as they tear easily.
If cold, wear several thin layers to trap air and keep you warm.
There are 5 Elements:
Element A: Introduction and talk about equipment and suitable clothing - 30-40mins.
Element B: Practical on-site training to introduce you to the controls of the bike you will be riding - 45 mins.
Element C: Practical on-site riding to prepare you for riding on the road - Approx. 2 - 3 hours.
Element D: Classroom training on road safety (Highway Code test) - 1 hour.
Element E: Practical riding on the roads - minimum 2 hours.

Our female Instructor, Lynne Burrows, has 5 years experience as well as being a fully qualified car driving instructor.
